Wellness care for your furry family member is essential to ensure they live longer, happier, and healthier. At VETsmart Animal Hospital, we believe the key to keeping your pet happy is comprehensive exams by our veterinarian, discussion of vaccinations to protect your pet, and routine lab work and testing for internal parasites. Cats are very stoic and don’t always let us know what they need. Scheduling an annual wellness exam for your cat allows our team to better keep track of their health. Annual wellness checks can catch health problems early, while they’re still treatable. Wellness checks also ensure that your cat is eating properly and their skin, teeth, and gums are healthy.

Annual Check-ups for Healthy Cats

We understand that you have a busy life. When it’s time for your cat’s yearly check-up, we are available to examine your cat by appointment during our regular business hours. In order to meet our mission of emphasizing convenience, we offer drop off appointments through our Pet Drop Off Concierge Service that allows you to leave your pet with us and we’ll call you when they are ready to go.

Our annual wellness exam appointments go over the following items:

  Comprehensive Physical Exam from head to tail

  Vaccinations necessary to protect your cat based on their lifestyle

  Annual Intestinal Parasite Screens

  Discussion of needed flea and tick preventatives to protect your cat

  Nutrition management

Before we administer any vaccinations, we do require that your cat undergo a physical examination by our veterinarian. We take your cat’s health seriously and keep thorough records to ensure that they get consistent care with every visit.

New Kittens

Bringing a new kitten into your home is an exciting time! Here at VETsmart Animal Hospital, we can help you get the newest member of your family set up for a lifetime of health. Kittens are cute and cuddly but require time, planning, and care. Don’t worry! We’ve got some answers for you.

Kitten Services offered at VETsmart Animal Hospital are:

  Comprehensive physical exam at the 6 week, 9 week, 12 week and 16 week visits

  Selection of vaccinations that will protect your pet against – Herpesvirus, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia, Feline Leukemia Virus, Feline Infectious Peritonitis and Rabies

  Intestinal Parasite screens checking for roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, giardia, and coccidia

  Regular deworming at 3 week intervals

  Discussion of behavior training, wellness care, as well as the best flea and tick combination for your pet’s needs.

Adult/Senior Preventive Care:

Adult patients (1-7 years) and Senior patients (>7 years) should be examined by our veterinarian once yearly to ensure a high quality of life for your pet.

  Comprehensive Physical Exam from head to tail

  Vaccinations necessary to protect your cat based on their lifestyle

  Bi-annual Heartworm Testing

  Bi-annual Intestinal Parasite Screens

  Performing adult/senior wellness blood work yearly

By performing these preventative care measures, we can help detect many medical conditions not seen on physical examinations by our veterinarian.  Early detection of diseases by these tests and blood work can help prolong their lives with you.
